The ZEEKR 9X in black
A close look at ZEEKR’s flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, photographed at IPD in Dubai, with buyer’s notes and a look at what a gloss-black finish could change.
The 9X is not a quiet car. An upright front, a long glasshouse and big sculpted wheels give it the presence of a full-size luxury SUV.
In black, the bright trim does the drawing: grille, sills, window line and rear pillar. We photographed one in our studio on 16 October 2026.
Black paint, bright outline
From the side, the proportions settle. The roofline is long and flat, the rear pillar is wide, and a thin metallic line runs along the sills.
That contrast defines the car. It is also the first thing to think about if you picture the 9X in one darker tone.
These photographs show one real car, taken before any chrome-delete work.
Buying a 9X in the UAE
This part is for buyers and is separate from IPD’s work. Figures come from ZEEKR UAE’s listing and can change, so confirm everything for the exact car with the seller.
Ultra
AED 369,900
Dual-motor all-wheel drive. Listed at 885 HP, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds.
Hyper
AED 409,900
Tri-motor all-wheel drive. Listed at 1,380 HP, with a claimed 3.1 seconds. Adds second-row rotating seats with a zero-gravity position and 48V active suspension.
Obsidian
AED 439,900
The Hyper specification plus the Obsidian Black package: exterior, interior, front grille and 22-inch forged wheels.
Prices and equipment checked against ZEEKR UAE’s model listing on 23 October 2026. Performance figures are manufacturer claims. Confirm the exact specification, VAT treatment, final price and delivery date in a written quotation from AWR Automotive, ZEEKR’s official UAE distributor.
Plug-in hybrid powertrain
The 9X combines a petrol engine, electric motors and a battery you can charge from the grid. ZEEKR UAE lists a 2.0T powertrain, a 70 kWh battery and a 900 V architecture.
The UAE model listing does not specify electric range, charging time or connector type. Confirm these for your exact vehicle.
Sit in every row
Try the second row as well as the driver’s seat. If you are looking at Hyper or Obsidian, check how the rotating seats and the zero-gravity position work for the people who will use them.
Seating layouts can differ by market. Confirm the layout of your order, and which languages, apps and driver-assistance functions work in the UAE.
Before you sign
- The exact car. VIN, model year, original market, trim and equipment list should match your order.
- The warranty. Who provides it, what it covers and where claims go. Do not assume an imported car has official UAE cover.
- Software and charging. Language, navigation, app access and charger compatibility with your set-up.
- Service. Where the car is maintained, how parts are supplied and what happens when a fault needs diagnosis.
- Delivery and payment. Delivery date, final price and deposit terms, in writing.

The same car in gloss black
A chrome delete turns bright trim and badges gloss black, so the body reads as one dark shape.
In the visualisations below, the body chrome and badges are gloss black, the wheels are gloss black, and only the ZEEKR logos at the centre of the wheels keep their original colour. Use the switch to compare each view with the real photograph.
These are AI retouches of the original photographs. Reflections and small shapes can shift between the two images, so read them as an idea of the look, not a finished result.

Not a finished project
There are no photographs of completed work on this car yet. Every image here that shows the trim in black is an AI visualisation. PPF was not selected for this car; this page does not present a completed paint protection film installation.
Not a factory Obsidian
A custom finish is a cosmetic choice. It does not turn another variant into the factory Obsidian specification, and our photographs do not establish this car’s trim or model year.
Have a 9X in mind?
Send IPD photographs of your car and note which details you would change: grille bars, window trim, badges and lettering, or the wheels. The team can advise on what is suitable, the method and the timing for each part. Paint protection film is a separate service you can ask about in the same message.
Quick answers
Is the ZEEKR 9X fully electric?
No. It is a plug-in hybrid: a petrol engine, electric motors and a battery that can be charged from the grid.
Which 9X has the factory black package?
Obsidian, which ZEEKR UAE lists with Obsidian Black exterior, interior, front grille and 22-inch forged wheels. A custom black finish on another variant is cosmetic and does not change the car’s factory specification.
Does an imported 9X get the official UAE warranty?
Do not assume so. Ask the seller and the warranty provider to confirm the cover in writing against the car’s VIN, including servicing and how claims work.
Are the gloss-black images real photographs?
No. The images showing black trim and wheels are AI visualisations made from real photographs taken at IPD. No photographs of finished work exist yet, and nothing in this article presents a completed project.
